That is the biggest waste of $25B I’ve ever seen. If it was estimated at $10B to begin with it will cost $25B. We have southwest airlines and it’s cheaper to fly than drive to most of the places in Cali or Vegas if you get the tickets on sale. I pray to God our broke ass state doesn’t fund that thing. Why would the state compete with Southwest airlines and all of these other businesses that are efficient means of travel?
What I would RATHER see would have someone build a system where all the cars on the roads are controlled by computers like electrons running through a computer. We already have all the technology ready to go. We have accurate digital maps, wireless networks, etc. That would make the roads work much better!
I was out of the country in 2008 but if you were in Cali at the time you are part of the electorate who approved high speed rail. It’s bonds. It’s a done deal. And the latest numbers are closer to $100 billion, if you can believe that.

Who gets sued when a glitch in the system causes a crash and wesley snipes starts killing the taggers?

Easy we spend and ungodly amount of money in insurance already. Also Electrons don’t hit each other in computer wires, it’s just a matter of fine tuning things to create a perfect system.
