Participantmy sons have recently requested wallets. They don’t have credit cards, id’s, or much cash… but they want them.
They also lose stuff a lot – so I’m not getting them fancy ones. I’m thinking those cheapo nylon ripstop/velcro jobs.
Or I could make them wallets out of duct tape. 🙂

ParticipantMy wife got me a wallet made out of repurposed tires. It’s extremely durable and doesn’t matter if it gets wet, and looks halfway decent too. The only problem is it’s pretty thick since there are like 6 1/4″ thick rubber pieces forming the inner pockets.

ParticipantI had a wallet I really liked that I lost around 1999. Dammit. It was beautifully worn.

ParticipantI hate having a bulky wallet and bought one of these when it was still a Kickstarter project: http://capsulewallets.com
May not be everyone’s cup of tea, but it’s well-made and I’ve been pretty happy with it.

ParticipantMinimalist has been my wife for the last 5 to 7 years. Small card case.
But maybe maximalist is better
The last 2 years I keep the card case in the right pocket and a money Clip with just cash in left. I like having cash on me. Feels retro. Necessary for paying for yard sale finds. Also muggers.

I like the way people are trying to innovate in small ways. Still. It’s hard to beat a big fat hunk of thick beautiful leather for overall feel.
