Rich, if you read this I want you to know that I appreciate the “Off Topic” group of threads as I feel community building happening here. Wonderful to get to know just a bit more about the members here as other topics come up for discussion.
We decided on Dr. Sue Redpath in Encinitas. She makes house calls only, so no having to get the cats in their carriers and get them all anxious with a car ride.
I will let you all know how it goes.

He is a great vet, compassionate, has a good sense of humor and very knowledgable about conventional and holistic treatment.
In 20 years, this guy is one of the best we’ve met.
