Lackey? Pence may be the next president.

November 9, 2016 at 12:48 AM #803275FlyerInHiGuestSPD In His speech tonight trump mentioned second to none infrastructure. I can get behind that. He might be able to get congress to appropriate the funds.
Might be great for NYC to have new airports and trains, all air conditioned like in a real modern city. Not sure it’ll be so good for Youngstown, oh.

According to the statute on handling classified media, Clinton did clearly violate the law. According to the statute, Negligence is not an excuse.
Possible sequence to follow:
1. The AG has Clinton charged.
2. She admits guilt gets sentenced.
3. Obama commutes the sentence and pardon’s her as he leaves office.I think that could happen in the remaining month an half. She needs to admit guilt so that real data which could be worse, doesn’t get presented in court. Once sentenced and then pardoned, she would not be able to be retried due to double jeopardy. At this point Hillary should be free and clear of the problems with her Email, probably forever.
November 9, 2016 at 6:25 AM #803283no_such_realityParticipantHis next move is starting to build a rational transition team.
The move after that is hopefully backing away from a lot of the rhetoric of the campaign.
As for President Obama pardoning Clinton, while possible, that might be the final nail in the DNC for fixing it against Bernie.
Anyway, hopefully that’s the path they take.
Besides we’re still 70 days from inauguration. Come Monday, the stock markets may be cratered, or may be bounced back.
November 9, 2016 at 6:48 AM #803285livinincaliParticipantI don’t think Trump does anything to Hillary she’s the biggest failure we’ve ever seen in politics. If you can’t win with #NeverTrump you are never going to win. It does look like Trump path to victory was the only one I could think of. Low voter turnout. He actually lost the popular vote but the numbers are incredibly low. Roughly 59 million to 59 million. For reference Obama won 2008 69 million to 59 million. We are a bigger country now so it’s like 12 to 15 million people that showed up in the Obama election didn’t bother showing up to this election.

I would hope the gravity of the office changes him. Otoh , I have seen power make some even MORE petty.

That’s the crux of it.
November 9, 2016 at 8:19 AM #803308scaredyclassicParticipantmy bet: continued outrageous rhetoric, doing the opposite of what he says, denying he is doing anything inconsistent with his outrageous rhetoric, even if it is palpably obvious, and blaming others for not doing whatever it was he said he’d do.
which would actually be great.

That could be great. If the right-wing media falls in line with him, which they probably will, he’ll be able to pull it off.
Big risk is whether he will continue to be overly sensitive to criticism. Every single day there will be political cartoons mocking him, like any president. His approval ratings may not be strong.
He has not shown himself to be thick-skinned – will he let that stuff get to him?
November 9, 2016 at 9:11 AM #803316scaredyclassicParticipanti think it will be all comedy to him. so no, I don’t think he will really care. he goes on howard stern, fer chrissakes. how seriously can he really take himself.
November 9, 2016 at 9:56 AM #803319HatfieldParticipantWell, I guess if he’s smart his next move will be to prepare for his fraud trial on Nov 28th.
November 9, 2016 at 8:52 PM #803367utcsoxParticipantNobody talk about cutting taxes? Republicans party just got a once in a generation opportunity to redo the tax code. I think this will be done real fast.
