GM, Ford, And Others Want to Make Working on Your Own Car Illegal

I hope this goes through. In 10 years, a lot of nice 90s sport car will be able to qualify. I wonder how this would work for cars that doesn’t pass the visual inspection (i.e. engine swap and turbo kit).
The bill would only apply to vehicles that were fixed and then couldn’t pass, which will basically only apply to vehicles where the smog standard is set unrealistically high. My 1988 Jeep passed with flying colors after installing a new catalytic converter so unless they jack up the specs I suspect it will always pass.
