Nostradamus,
I don’t think we know each other….but we know good stuff!
Let me know what you think of Ono. Just left Costco at Mission Valley.. might try that Oki Tan sometime..Sushi Ono in Hillcrest is ‘hip’ and creative but that’s different from authentic. Neither is better or worse, it just is about what folks look for. I lean to authentic when it comes to sushi.. So for those of you who dig that… visit Sushi Ota.
For those who have a thing for Ichiban, they have an upgrade sit-down sushi place called Ichiban on the Rock at Richmond and University next to Blockbuster Video in the strip mall. Again, it is an upgrade to Ichiban… and not even close to Ota. The young chef behind the sushi bar is energetic and likes to experiment.
I hope you all have a happy holiday!

It’s near the intersection of Park and El Cajon Blvd, right next to “The Boulevard” sign. It’s in the little strip mall with the 7-11…

December 18, 2007 at 4:09 PM #120054kewpParticipantKazumi’s on Fifth in Hillcrest.
Not downtown and *destroys* Ono. Can’t even believe that one made the list.
The owner is the real deal and picks out the fish daily from Point Loma.
