im not sure if my support is statistically important. but maybe my disgust is just reflective of obama’s general jump in the polls. I really really wanted to throw my vote away but just feel i can’t now.

Paramount: Have you looked at Gary Johnson yet? I’m planning on writing him in come November.
It’s not like a GOP vote goes anywhere in this state, anyway.

Yes, I have. I would support Gary Johnson.
There could be one advantage to having Romney in office though: Obama could do some serious damage to the country knowing he’s not up for reelection.

September 14, 2012 at 8:22 AM #751443RenParticipantAs of this year, for the first time in ~20 years, I won’t be voting for any politicians, only propositions. I am far too disgusted with our system of government. A vote for any career politician is a vote for the system, which is a vote for corruption.
September 14, 2012 at 8:42 AM #751444NotCrankyParticipantI haven’t voted for president for more than 25 years with one exception, Clinton once. This year I decided to register and vote for almost anyone who is not on the red or blue team. It will Probably be Johnson.
Allan, I think he is on the ballot in 47 states already, including California.

I’m actually giving Gary Johnson a long hard look, despite my general liberal leanings. If Cali was a swing state I would vote against Romney, but we have the luxury here of supporting third candidates like the Greens or Gary Johnson without worrying about tipping the scale. Gary Johnson is the kind of candidate I *wish* the Republicans would run to give a genuine choice between two sane options. I actually would have given Huntsman a long look had he won the Nom, but we all know how little traction he picked up in the party of No.September 14, 2012 at 10:05 PM #751468scaredyclassicParticipantoh yeah. i forgot. i wanted to vote for gary johnson. Ive previously mentioned that I actually met him and talked with him for 15 minutes in 2001 or so, i change my official endorsement and throw my full support behing gary johnson. he will legalize all drugs,or at least stop making stupid pronouncements about them, and i bet he will sway opinion thereon, he ran a very successful business, and he admits extensive coke use (i think) while building a major enterprise (but i’ve met people who claimed to paty with him a long time ago).
today he just rides a bike a lot and funnels that energy into super fitness.
he’s fun, cool, a can-do dude.
he is 8x better than romney and 4.6 x better than obama.
September 16, 2012 at 7:31 AM #751497scaredyclassicParticipantwait, before i make this endorsement official, i need to know if gary johnson said stupid shit about Libya tryign to make obama look weak and take political advantage of a really bad anti-muslim video. jeez, have you people seen it? it’s freakishly awful.
September 16, 2012 at 7:32 AM #751498scaredyclassicParticipantmaybe there should be a series made for every religion to convey to the muslim world that it is more of a very bad theme set of videos than an attack on one particular religion

“It is tragic when Americans serving their country are murdered, and we both mourn their loss and honor their service.
Part of honoring that service is to ask the obvious question: What U.S. interest is being served by putting our people – and our money – in places where U.S. personnel can be killed by extremists over a video? We launched millions of dollars worth of missiles to bring down Gaddafi, and this is what we get. We hail and encourage the outbreak of an Arab Spring in Egypt, send them billions of dollars we can’t afford, — and our embassy is breached and our flag desecrated.
In Afghanistan, we continue to put our troops in harm’s way 10 years after our post-9/11 mission was complete. Why?
The airwaves are filled today with political chest-pounding and calls for decisive action. The most decisive and prudent action we can take today is to stop trying to manage governments and peoples on the other side of the globe who don’t want to be managed, get our people out of impossible situations that have no direct U.S. interest, and immediately stop sending money to regimes who clearly cannot or will not control their own countries.
Protecting America with a strong national defense and a rational foreign policy is our leaders’ most basic responsibility. But let us not confuse national security with senseless intervention where our interests are clearly not being served.”
September 16, 2012 at 7:36 AM #751500scaredyclassicParticipantgary johnson’s statement passes the squat250 ” is he or is he not a turd” test.
the endorsement stands, at least until he says something excessively douchey.
