SK, yes. Your BB is free. Because your carrier subsidizes it…But trust me, you’re paying for it (or your company is paying for it) via the monthly service plan.[/quote]
Yeah, the carrier is subsidizing for sure, to the tune of at least a few hundred on most every phone. But my point was, there are plans available that are nowhere near $100 a month, or even $70 a month. My 5 phones average $40/month, 3 with data plans.

As I’m driving these kids home (2 are age 18, 1 is 19) I realize they make about $8/hr., only 1 out of 3 has a car, but between the 3 of them they have a new iphone, a droid, and a blackberry.

August 23, 2010 at 7:01 AM #594781LesBaer45ParticipantI’m a luddite. I still have just a plain phone plan although the new one came with a camera and a keyboard.
I refuse to pay for a data plan, thus no smartphone.
The screens too small (why did I buy a large screen LCD if I wanted to watch stuff on a 4.5in screen?), I don’t really text, not into shipping files around or email on the phone. I don’t even own an Ipod for heavens sake.
It’s ok with me if others want to spend their income on a phone. I’ll waste mine on cigars and bourbon, thank you very much.
