[quote=ralphfurley][quote=Allan from Fallbrook]Partypup: The “Obama Youth”? That reminds me of something, something having to do with a youth movement…

The Rambis Youth? Now there’s a good guy. They don’t make ’em like that anymore. π

Ralph: Anyone growing up in the SF/Bay Area when I did (1970s/1980s) is familiar with Kurt Rambis (Cupertino HS, Santa Clara University). I saw him play my first year of high school (1979) at SCU. Our football coach had taken a group of us there to show what “work ethic” was all about and Rambis was his favorite example. I don’t know if I learned anything about work ethic, but he played with the ferocity of a badger.

when I am wearing my tin foil hat I like to read conspiracy theories
one of them is that some of the key power people behind Hitler’s fun and frolics came to America at the end of WWII – it wasn’t just the scientists and engineers that America ‘saved’
another one is that the power players on this planet are intentionally trying to destroy the family unit – once the family unit is destroyed people will rely more and more on the govt – imagine having all our children growing up in govt facilities where they can be properly ‘educated’
if you are interested read “Creature from Jekyll Island” by G. Edward Griffin – he talks about the supposedly altruistic foundations in America that shape who we are over the long term – points out how these foundations influence the educational material used in our classrooms [isn’t it interesting that economics have been completely removed from the American education system? perhaps it is easier to financially manipulate people who don’t understand economics? hmmm …]
uh oh, my foil is losing its charge – gotta go …

Rus: You’re right, and what’s even more amazing is the absolute silence from the MSM on this topic. Obama is continuing the Bush policies, or, in some cases, expanding them (Afghanistan) and there is nary a peep from the chattering classes.
To give that speech in Cairo while Predators and Reapers circle vast swathes of Pakistan and Afghanistan, Gitmo remains open for business, and the US continues to torture (and don’t believe for a second we’ve stopped) is the height of hypocrisy.
I remain amazed by the capacity of people to believe this man, and in spite of the glaring evidence. “Meet the new boss, same as the old boss”.
