I don’t know about this case but like seeing the government back down.
No doubt land control/development/use and influence peddling go hand in hand. It is apparent the environmental issues are a tool in that. Governments have lots of ways to extract wealth and opportunity from privately held lands to support the machine or pass on to favored parties.
Someone is speaking with a forked tongue: “News recently broke that the Desert Tortoise Conservation Center near Las Vegas is running out of funds and many tortoises may be euthanized! Please sign to help to make sure the Bureau of Land Management & U.S. Fish and Wildlife do everything they can do save these animals unless there is legitimate health reason to consider.”
