Lost his cool at the pool. Honestly, I wonder if he wasn’t on coke or ‘roids — he was running around like he was on something interesting.

Now that you mention, it’s highly possible that he was high on something.
He was very quick to resign; and usually when people resign, it’s because there are skeletons in the closet.
June 11, 2015 at 9:50 PM #787230CoronitaParticipantAccording to the news, prior two the incident, he was responding to two suicide calls, one which blew himself away…
I don’t know…Seems to me he just snapped. The fact the he admitted he was wrong and apologized and resigned instead of hiding under the covers of a police union probably is an indication that he recognizes what he did was wrong.
But hey, hating cops is so en vogue these days…
June 11, 2015 at 9:50 PM #787231spdrunParticipantIt’s mitigation, but I’m still glad that he resigned.
If he snapped and physically took it out on an innocent party, he doesn’t have the temperament to do his job well. It’s better for him and the public that he resigns.

Well, everyone can be an asshole at some point in their life for different reasons, though I agree it’s no excuse… I’m sure everyone at some point can relate. I’m sure if everyone of us were held accountable for every asshole thing we said or did, we would have been fired a long time ago, and multiple times. Right?
June 11, 2015 at 10:05 PM #787233spdrunParticipantDifference is that a cop can legally do a lot more physical mayhem than (say) a store clerk who snaps and curses someone out. With power comes more responsibility. The girl only got scared, maybe a bit bruised. If he did it to the wrong person or they fell in the wrong way, he could have killed them.
June 14, 2015 at 8:39 AM #787259no_such_realityParticipantPeople are going to have bad days. People are going to get stressed and make bad decisions.
The real problem isn’t the stressed guy overreacting, it’s the blue brotherhood that ignores it. There were multiple officers in the video…
Probably multiple officers at the other scenes too in his excuses…
Apparently none of them will police there own or pull a coworker aside to say you need to go decompress
That’s the real danger and problem.
June 15, 2015 at 10:44 AM #787268AnonymousGuestHe may have resigned to avoid being fired.
Easier to get another job that way.

snitches get stitches.
June 15, 2015 at 7:16 PM #787284spdrunParticipantWho said anything about being a snitch?
June 15, 2015 at 8:10 PM #787285scaredyclassicParticipantcops cannot snitch one upon the other or they will not do well..
June 15, 2015 at 9:45 PM #787288spdrunParticipant“Hey, calm down man, take it easy” isn’t being a snitch, just giving some brotherly advice.
