So a friend said to check for a certified pre-owned Boxster S, like 2005/2006. Would be a little over my 30k limit. Any thoughts?
As I recall, all work must be done from underneath which will drive up maintenance/repair costs.

Yup. Actually, some routine stuff just needs to be done underneath with the engine being lowered. But most other moderate work requires the engine to be lowered….
Labor costs is the suck in maintanance in the U.S.

If I were looking for a good performing car, with a reasonable price and great reliability I think there is only one choice:2010 Mazda Speed3 (mid 20’s at the most…)
+1 on the MS3, I have a 2008 and I absolutely love it. It doesn’t get great gas mileage though (especially the way I drive.) Around 25 mpg highway, 17-18 mpg city… of premium gas.April 2, 2010 at 2:20 PM #5348838bitnintendoParticipant
