I also hear that in 2011 I will be able to get a Fiat Abarth here in the U.S. and that seems like something fun.
I also wouldn’t mind getting another TT, but I think that’ll be out of my practical budget.
Wow, my kinda woman…knows a lot about cars and likes fun ones! lol
Can’t go wrong with a Camaro SS…I love’em too. I saw my first one in downtown SF last August and my tongue’s been out ever since.
I too am awaiting the return of Fiats to our shores…Alfas are coming back, too!
But since you’re in a pinch right now, here are the things that you could buy today (though the Camaro is a grand idea and I don’t discourage that choice at all):
– Volkwagen CC (these things are gorgeous in black or silver! And I’m not a VW guy…your Golf R32 idea is great also)
– 2009-2011 BMW Z4 (not a big BMW guy, but this is sharp)
– Mustang/Camaro/Challenger (love’em all)
– 2010 Vette GS (base vette cost with Z06 looks…drool!)
– Nissan 370Z vert w/manual (I like these)
– Volvo C30 (I know, it’s a boring Volvo…but in right color and at right angles, it’s a beauty)
– Mini (problem: everyone and their dog has one now)I know some of those are outside your price parameters, but if you’re like me you’ll end up blowing through your target anyway when you sign on the dotted line. π
If you could hold out until Sept or so, the 2011 Mustang V6 gets more HP than my wifes 3 yo Mustang V8 and gets 31 MPG to boot! It is supposed to be a screamer…
If you can hold out TWO years, the 2012 Tesla S looks to be a standout…
Whatever you get, I’d love to hear about it…

Congratulations for driving stick. Few women can drive stick.
No way would I get an automatic. In fact, when I got the TT it was not intentional. I was looking for a turbo beetle at Miramar Audi/VW and they only had auto. Then they tried to sell me a convertible bug and I didn’t want it b/c it looked like an abberation of a beetle. They had the TT convertible right next to the bug convertible and I said, “If I want a convertible, I just as soon get a TT.” Half kidding. The guy said it was a certified pre-owned and they would give me a deal. Once I test drove it, that was it for me.So a friend said to check for a certified pre-owned Boxster S, like 2005/2006. Would be a little over my 30k limit. Any thoughts?
