ParticipantMy favorite parking garage downtown is the one right across the street from petco park on the west side. They have an early bird special if you get there early…I want to say ten bucks if you are there by seven but could be way off on price and time. Won’t hurt to drive by and see what portable sign says.
I like that garage because it has some niw wide spots if you look for them. Helps me keep from getting door dings on my rides. 🙂I just looked it up…parking garage is across street on west side of petco park, and across the street on the north side of omni hotel….a fun place to stay, by the way. Awesome views and easy access to hard rock and prohibition.

ParticipantPark at the Solana Beach train station for free, pay $11 round-trip on the Coaster. Make the connection on the trolley if you don’t want to walk from the station downtown (but it’s not that far).
If your conference runs later than the last north-bound Coaster, I suspect you could just use the trolley directly and park for free elsewhere (e.g. parking for free at the Q for Padres games).

ParticipantThrow a bike into your vehicle or on a bike rack. Drive to Banker’s Hill area north of downtown. This is 5 to 10 minutes away from your destination, a bit more on the return (uphill).
Best to use a small, cheap, urban-type bike and a big lock. If no bike rack at hotel, lock it to a railing inside parking garage.
Its all free, and with this weather you won’t even get sweaty. I’ve done it a lot.March 29, 2011 at 9:10 PM #682426EconProf
