August 5, 2008 at 8:48 PM #253013NotCrankyParticipantWho the would call you pollyanna? My sister is pollyanna. I guess I missed your aim.
I think you missed too. I was just pointing out the invitation casca is apparently giving you to drink whatever he is drinking and take back your negative opionion of gitmo. I absolutely know you don’t condone it. I must admit though, I hope it isn’t just because it doesn’t work.

August 5, 2008 at 8:59 PM #253018Allan from FallbrookParticipantRus: I don’t support torture because torture is WRONG. That’s about the long and short of it from my end.
As a soldier, I didn’t advocate torture; I didn’t make war on non-combatants and I didn’t engage in practices that I felt were morally wrong. Yes, it is difficult in wartime, but there is a clear line (at least to me) as to what is right and what is wrong.
Casca is certainly entitled to his opinions, and perhaps his background has yielded a different worldview than mine. God bless America, baby, that’s what dissent is all about.
I have to go now and wash my brown shirt and armband.
