I was all excited until I saw that it was discontinued. I’ve heard that certain models change and then the newer one isn’t as good. Consumer Reports and another site rated KitchenAid KUDS30IV very highly and quiet. It’s discontinued. The link says I can buy it at the outlet, but no store has it. In any case, they upgraded to KUDS30IX and I keep reading bad reviews about that model.
So meadandale, you probably got a good model and no guarantee any of the other Whirlpool Gold models are as good. And thus my little dilemma.

It is so quiet we don’t even know it is running until it purges water for the rinse – and that’s when we are about 20 feet from it while watching TV.
Works great too – best dw we’ve ever had by far.

Thanks, svelte.
