I agree with the suggestion to check out the Sears outlet on Sherman St, which sells lots of different brands, but of course you have to stop in frequently because it’s hit or miss. Also, don’t forget to check Costco.com for Whirlpool.
Pacific Sales has always offered us the best appliance prices for higher end appliances, especially since they were bought by Best Buy. If you go there, make sure to tell them that you’re re-doing a whole kitchen and are in the market for several appliances (even if you don’t end up buying them all there) and you want the same discount they offer contractors. They’ve always done that for me, but only after some back and forth.

carli – I would LOVE to get a Miele. Everywhere I look it has gotten very good reviews and quiet, only 45 decibels. But I’ve got to keep it real. This isn’t my dream home or dream kitchen and no way hubby is going to let me drop 1200 for a dishwasher. He may make me hand wash them before that happens. LOL.
I’ve been told since I want the range backing the pony wall that I should get a slide-in range. I’ve spent the last few hours online reading about different brands and lines and models and my head is swimming right now.
May end up going w/a GE Profile range, PGS908SEPSS. Way more than I want to spend, but this whole deal is already killing me. Just going for broke.
Any feedback on a microwave or dishwasher. Save me from further anguish.
I’ll check out Costco and Pacific Sales. Thanks.

February 16, 2011 at 2:35 PM #667066carliParticipantOh yeah, I just looked up a photo of that GE Profile range, and I think that’s the one my friend has and LOVES. She’s given me some grief about my big ol’ pro range and how she can turn out meals that are just as good on hers, and I have to admit, it’s definitely true! She’s an amazing cook, loves to cook and raves about that range.
