He’ll still be hosting Countdown and he’ll still be on-air during political events like debates and elections – just in the role of a pundit or commentator – like Pat Bucchanan. If you watch MSNBC you’ll know, Pat Bucchanan gets plenty of air time on special coverage nights.
I will agree that MSNBC leans left – but they aren’t exclusively left – they do have folks like Joe Scarborough, Pat Buccanan, etc on.

I don’t mind “news” people being bias I just mind them pretending that they are not.
I wish NBC would just come out and endorse Obama and commit to him but their too chicken shit for that.

PS. Actually, I expect a network to endorse Obama this year. They are in the tank 100% for Obama and will do whatever they have to to promote Obama.
Newspapers have been endorsing candidates for years and its probably time that the MSM to start doing the same allthough it would backfire in their faces.
