You’re right Brian. As my friend Robb says, “some people take life personally.” People need to chill, relax, calm down, etc. We all die at the end, whether we worry a lot or not. We already know how the movie ends, so be nice to others, be nice to yourself, and try to enjoy the ride while it lasts.
March 20, 2012 at 2:24 PM #740287scaredyclassicParticipantMore rational to go nuts over money than nuts over a bad breakup.
March 20, 2012 at 4:59 PM #740293Diego MamaniParticipant“Rational” and “going nuts” are mutually exclusive!
March 20, 2012 at 9:21 PM #740307scaredyclassicParticipantnot really. it may be evolutionarily advantageous, and therefore rational, to go berserk if for instance someone touches, or perhaps even looks longingly, at your woman. this crazy, yet sensible, act sends an unambiguous signal to the other primates that if you try to touch my woman, I will get wild and crazy and try to eat your spleen. Also, the woman understands that if she attempts to procreate with another, you may lose it and kill her and all her kin.
I’m not saying this works nowadays, but, you know, it was probably golden during our cave roots days. Those kind of dudes probably got cuckolded less and got more offspring out there. the very same guys whose distant issue are now in domestic violence classes and whose women are hunkering down in shelters.
i’d say it’s more rational evolutionarily nowadays to get crazy over money than mates, since the money is in scarcer supply than sexually available females.
i’d say also in some bsuiness dealings it can be advantageous for the other side to know youa re not entirely rational and may in fact be nuts.

[/quote]I like how you think, walter.
I guess the nuts of today were the rational guys of thousands of year ago.
kinda like that George Zimmerman guy. Back in the cavemen days, he’d prosper because the other primates wouldn’t come near his cave or his women.

I think your definition of “going nuts” is “outwardly aggressive.” In that case, what you wrote makes sense. But if “nuts” means crazy, then there’s nothing rational about it.March 21, 2012 at 8:02 AM #740314scaredyclassicParticipantNot sure about that. Discrete doses of insanity can add real uncertainty to negotiations. Also shows you will walk if you don’t get your way where a reasonable person might compromise.
If a client seems irrational on a certain point to a realtor, might thecrealtor better able communication a stance of non negotiability to the other side.
March 21, 2012 at 2:21 PM #740333briansd1GuestDoes it mean that insanity is our genes.
I think that many “successful” people are a little insane.
