And spyware-laced porn apps ;)
At least you have an option to get porn apps :-P
Boy, if anything can sway TG, it’s porn.
The walled garden of Apple is like the world of Disney. It beckons millions of fans, but after a while ,they find that dream world to be very sterile and regimented.
Well, for those who care places like youporn work fine in Safari.
I don’t know. As a developer I get frustrated on a daily basis with the limits Apple imposed onto me. Could be as trivial as not being able to control the focal point of suck/genie transition (the trash sucking photos or emails on delete) without using private API, my last night’s time waster. On the other hand, many users would not approve of an app digging up the email address associated with the iTunes account.
Once I exit my circle of geeks people appear to be more like TG and they don’t seem to care about the inability to customize the look&feel of the ‘OK’ button.

captcha, it’s about choices and being able to do something. Being able to do something, even if it’s bad for you is still better than having someone else telling you that you can’t do it because they know what’s best for you. You can search those site just as well on Android’s browser. Even sites that uses flash ;-).I totally agree with you have development and iOS. For crying out loud, you can’t even do strike through on your text easily. If you try to step outside of their “preferred” look and feel, it gets soooo much harder to do.
I wouldn’t go as far as not caring about the inability to customize but maybe they don’t know any better.

March 16, 2011 at 7:57 PM #677687allParticipantI used to subscribe to the philosophy of meeting the needs of every single user. I made serious adjustment to my style after reading Joel’s “User Interface Design for Programmers” few years ago. The users seem to respond better to this approach.
