For the first of 3 years that I commuted from downtown San Diego to Oceanside I drove an old mini-toyota pick up. No AC, crappy after market stereo. Bench seating. Truck suspension. After a year of this I bought my first ever brand new car… a bottom of the line Honda civic… but it had bucket seats, a good stereo, and lots of pep. (I was still too cheap for AC, lol… this was the 80’s.) The commute was still too long – but it was more comfortable.
As I said in the 5bdrm carmel valley thread… I will never commute more than 30 minutes again… those 3 years taught me that. But the comfort of your ride can make an intolerable commute slightly more tolerable.
