OT – George Chamberlain on the Mikey Show

The Mikey Show has George Chamberlain on every now and then to talk about the economy/stock market/etc. He was on today and basically made the blanket statement that its a great time to buy stocks and houses because they are at such low prices. No disclaimer about the significant headwinds facing the economy (unemployment, interest rate risk, commercial real estate, shadow inventory, government stimulus and affect on inflation,etc etc etc). He sounded like the real estate brokers in 2005 telling me if I didn’t buy now, I’d be priced out forever.

How can he be that brazen when Americans have lost TRILLIONS of dollars in wealth in the stock market and their homes? This guy is supposed to be an advisor!

It’s amazing how far a quick wit and booming voice can get someone.

I’ve met him…not impressed. But a number of otherwise intelligent people were eating up his every word. It amazed me.

I watched the news this morning before I left for work. I couldn’t believe when I saw him again on the market/economy short bit….Is he sleeping w/ some executive at the big networks because he’s all over the media channels…..lol

P.S. A few months ago I walked into my bank and noticed some joint marketing effort for “advise on an economic related topic”…forgot the specifics. I was shocked & joked w/ the teller….”Are u serious that this guy is giving advise in a co-marketing campaign w/ my bank?” I was about to take all my $2 left in my account then…..
