One comment here about homos.
(aka “godless sodomites” as I refer to them at my Hillcrest office). If serving in a life-or-death situation is compromised because of inadequate unit cohesion that is a very serious issue.
However, if you can’t serve honorably or effectively because the dude covering your back happens to hump dudes when off duty, then I think you probably should not be in the military.
I don’t think everyone should have the same opinions about racial, gender, ethnic, or gen-pref diversity.
However, you should never fear that your unit-mate will be less helpful in protecting you because of some irrelevant bullshit.
There are loads of racists that serve just fine alongside blacks and mexicans. If they cant hack it then they get the fuck out.
I can’t imagine something that would matter less to me than whether my back up likes it up the ass or not.
Correction.
Lady Gaga. I might actually care less if my unit mate likes Lady Gaga.September 21, 2010 at 7:33 PM #607653urbanrealtorParticipantOne comment here about homos.

Homosexual conduct is still prohibited and cause for a dishonorable discharge. It’s a stupid policy. It’s time for Obama keep his promise and get rid of it.

September 21, 2010 at 9:08 PM #607612NotCrankyParticipantI agree that job performance is not in question.
The military is different from other work places in that co-workers share cramped sleeping quarters/bathing areas for entire tours of duty, which can be very long . So, in the military people who are prone to sleeping with each other are generally given separate sleeping and bathing facilities.I would assume most women prefer to be kept separate, in these intimate situations, from most if not all male co-workers. Does a man who wants to bathe and sleep apart from men who lust after males have a right too?September 21, 2010 at 9:08 PM #607699NotCrankyParticipantI agree that job performance is not in question.
