Uh yeah flu, you’re implying the average Costco shopper knows that ARCO is owned by BP, cares, and is consciously boycotting them? Highly doubt it. You’re changing the subject. Forget about ARCO. Using UCGal’s link (yes I use that site too ;)) for Vista, Barnicle’s Express has the same price gas as Costco too. My point was asking why do Costco shoppers wait in ridiculously long lines for the same priced product? I can’t vouch for Barnicle’s….never been there. Catchy name. 76 is 2 cents more, anything wrong with them? It’s really worth 40 cents to wait in line that long? I really hate waiting in line; maybe that’s skewing my opinion on this.
Personally, I don’t stick anything in my tanks other than Shell, Chevron, or Exxon Mobil, simply because you don’t know what sort of additives there are/aren’t in there.
The other thing is driving from around town to save a few cents on gas defeats the entire purpose (time/money thing). On the other hand, if you’re already at costco, you fill up at the same time.
Lastly, a lot of people won’t buy gas at arco (whether the stories are true or not about arco), no matter what price. So it doesn’t matter if Arco costs the same of costco…Some people refuse to stick arco gas into their tanks…

Agree with this. I guess I’m ghetto.
I’m ghetto too. I shop at walmart.
I let the quality of the products determine my purchasing decision regardless of where they are sold and what the branding is.Public relations, branding and marketing are a whole industry. It’s very important and makes up a greater part of “value” that we want to admit when we spend our money.
