GuestNot a lot has changed. The desk is still the same as are the side chairs, the side tables and the drapes.
I like the reupholstered leather chairs and the brown sofas.
The office has a more masculine feel and it doesn’t look like Michelle Obama was involved in the decoration (no flowery fabric).
In my opinion, a man’s office should be his own; his wife should not be decorating it.
Overall, the office has a modern, practical, uniquely American feel (unlike the gaudy palaces of foreign capitals).
I like the coffee table and the blue lamps. They add a modern touch to a necessarily traditional space.
I also like the simple stripped wallpaper.

GuestLooking at the old pictures of the Oval Office, it’s interesting that President Truman had a painting of Simon Bolivar over the fireplace. George Washington was to the side.
Eisenhower just had some landscape paintings.
It shows you how partisan our society has become in the last 60 years. We’ve become less philosophical and more fixated on icons such as flag waving and lapel pins.
