Last I checked, wearing a $1.99 flag pin (that is of course Made in China) does not make you a Patriot.

“If you can’t discuss politics 100% dispassionately then, in my opinion, you shouldn’t discuss them with anyone you’d prefer not to loose as a friend. Even if you can you are playing with fire. As the posts in this discussion (and so many like them) demonstrate, many have a complete lack of respect for views that differ from their own, and often that disrespect extends to disrespecting the other viewholder as a person. Because of this lack of respect, or perhaps by virtue of a feeling of intellectual and/or moral superiority, many insult the differing views or the person holding them or feel required to teach/correct the poor ignoramus on what is Correct Thought. ”
Uh, Yeah – GOOD LORD IS RIGHT!

April 18, 2008 at 4:00 PM #189923PeaceParticipantTell us how you discuss politics dispassionately when people are dying? Yes, this time around (vs Vietnam) I do have a “complete lack of respect” for anyone who still clings to the idea that there was ANY justification to invading Iraq.
YES, I have “complete lack of respect” for anyone who would be stupid enough to think there is any way to win this war – just who the hell are we fighting? Yes I AM smarter and more moral than someone who would think that killing innocent people is a way to get our way. The insurgents are just doing what any people would do if they were invaded and occupied – are some people so egocentric that they can’t imagine what they would do if this had happened to us – what if because of a grudge against Canada a foreign country attacked and invaded us – and then occupied our towns with their armed soldiers?
I shouldn’t have to “teach” anybody, it is so obvious that this administration has so FU’ed this country and if you can’t see that by now then YOU ARE a “poor ignoramus”.
