Thanks for the tips, I didn’t even think about the speed of the memory, and the burner is a great idea, if not kind of expensive, but I’m sure they’ll come down in price.
We’re probably going to take the shorter battery life for having a larger screen though so it’ll be easier to frame up what’s being shot underwater.March 4, 2008 at 12:47 PM #164332DoofratParticipantThanks for the tips, I didn’t even think about the speed of the memory, and the burner is a great idea, if not kind of expensive, but I’m sure they’ll come down in price.

I bought an old 2 MP one way back ago, and just got an updated model about 6 months ago. Plus, the casing is metal and it feels like it won’t break so easily…mostly psychological I bet.

Where the Rebel will have an advantage is in low light. It will do better in focusing speed, flash depth(how far it can throw the flash) and have less noise in the images. The SD950IS will have noise start to creep in after ISO 100. The Rebel should be able to run up to ISO 400 without problems. For pictures in bright daylight, the SD950IS should do a lot better.
Actually, it's 8mp. Though if I waited the XTi is 10.1mp. And the latest addition the XSi will be 12.1mp. Doh, if I only waited.
