ParticipantMaybe the plumbing was originally set up for a common water heater? Is it a conversion? Maybe it still is on a common water heater? Sounds like it isn’t and every unit has a private water heater now. Other than that nothing comes to mind as to why it would have such a setup.

ParticipantNo, they were original condos without anything shared except walls and vent shafts. I guess this is just a mystery case.
Thanks for your input! I thought there might be some lame construction ordinance requiring such silliness. I’m glad there isn’t.
