You need more bourbon in your repertoire.
The wife and I drink a lot of Manhattans. We don’t generally use rye. Knob Creek is my favorite for Manhattans, though I never buy it because I’m not an ivy league educated lawyer living in a low cost of living area. The angostura bitters and cherry are not optional.

Tiki drinks have become fun again. And I don’t mean the fruit juice sugar overload kind.. I mean the hardcore 100% liquor no-juice kind that kick your ass reeeeaalll good. If you’ve never had a real Tiki drink, check out the Tiki Ti in LA (http://www.tiki-ti.com/), they have over 90 amazing cocktails. Can’t go wrong with a Bali Hai Mai Tai either.
Don’t forget the classics. Scotch neat or a dirty gin martini. Mmmmmmmm.
