Completely agree with sduuuude about Rum & Coke being a match made in heaven. I’d drink it more often if it didn’t make me do things no sane man should do.
The thing about R&C is – the caffeine. You have the energy to do all the stupid things you are drunk enough to do.
Lol – that very well could explain it. I have eliminated caffeine from my diet except when drinking R&C, which probably makes it hit me twice as hard.

ParticipantIt’s great time to be alive in San Diego if you love quality cocktails and beer. Seems as if there’s a cocktail revival going on right now. Lots of restaurants priding themselves on well-made, classic, quality ingredients, attention to detail, etc. Gone are the days of cheap well drinks. Plenty of bartenders see the making of cocktails as both art and science, and anyone who has attempted to make a quality one will agree. Cocktails have a lot of history, and it’s good to see that history starting to be respected.
Tequila fiends should check out El Take It Easy in North Park. Their goal is to create classic Mexican cocktails from colonial days and back when Mexico was a playground for the rich and famous during prohibition.
Cocktail Menu
Tequila/Mezcal MenuStarlite on India overlooking the airport has amazing mules, along with a handful of other quality cocktails. Drink Menu
Riviera in La Mesa has some killer classics made the right way. Negroni, Sidecar, Manhattan, etc. menu
And don’t even get me started on beer. We’re very lucky here in Sandy Eggo.
