I got a book on the potato famine cause we’ve been baking a lot of potatoes. Very interesting.
March 31, 2014 at 8:11 PM #772354scaredyclassicParticipantNow I feel bad about the fish. I shall be a vegan.
March 31, 2014 at 8:18 PM #772356scaredyclassicParticipant
On the other hand, I do wonder , should we call obesity what it is? Isn’t it self mutilation with food and life style?
I am sure we have no problem seeing an anorexic as self mutilating and the anorexic probably agrees…but when we do obese and all the health hazards that come with it, it’s sugar coated.
Self mutilation requires effort. Anorexics are diligent. Obesity requires less diligence. Just go with the flow.
How would a seal burger stand do by lajolla beach? Say 1 percent seal … probably get lots of publicity…

I am growing potatoes for the first time ever. They are doing very well! DId you know they are related to tomatoes and peppers! Might get too hot before they mature though, same summer climate as Temecula.Nothing like Ireland. Sweet potatoes should really do well ,for them it’s still too cold to plant.
March 31, 2014 at 8:21 PM #772358NotCrankyParticipantImitation seal burger.
March 31, 2014 at 8:22 PM #772359scaredyclassicParticipantI was reading about antioxidants in of all things whiskey. Turns out whiskey may be the magic bullet. Luckily I drank a shot load of it when I was young.

No way! Real blubber. Ever see http://www.suicidefood.blogspot.com? It’s ads of animals killing themselves for food like pigs roasting themselves for a bbq joint. I’d have the seal flipping the patty with his tail while he’s sweating and roasting alive on a grill while smiling. Imagine the publicity!!!!!
March 31, 2014 at 8:26 PM #772361scaredyclassicParticipantI bet seal will help my numbers
March 31, 2014 at 8:36 PM #772364NotCrankyParticipantImagine that. Seals are pretty nasty critters, not the cute things people think they are. I saw one swallow a penguin whole in a documentary. Why treat them like they are so cool? They eat your wild caught fish right off the hook before you even get them to the boat.

The seals in La Jolla send a bad messafe. Just lay around squat on property, fuck, eat a fish sleep. Repeat. Federal law protects your right to hang out. Was there with my college kid and his GF. Is this really the message we want to give young people?
April 1, 2014 at 11:25 AM #772378FlyerInHiGuestGood point about wild fish. But if I don’t buy it someone else will.
And with global warming they will all die off en masse anyway. It’s not possible to be stuck up if you eat simple food. That’s what poor people used to eat. Stuck up people eat fancy gourmet, rich stuff, cakes and pies…
So many people are stuck up about their fancy gas stoves because they can cook like professional chefs at home. All I need is something to boil water in the steamer.
April 1, 2014 at 11:51 AM #772379NotCrankyParticipantThe wild fish are probably going to die from the nuclear waste and heavy metals if we don’t eat them first.
April 1, 2014 at 11:58 AM #772380The-ShovelerParticipantYou guys make me want to volunteer for the mars one colony.
I saw a guy pull in a very large grouper off the beach this weekend in SD BTW.April 1, 2014 at 12:01 PM #772381FlyerInHiGuestI wonder if a monk who eschews the riches of this world is holier than thou. Or is he just spiritual.
