Ooops, missed the memo on boycotting black friday. I was afraid to leave the house so I just shopped online.

Got into cycling this year so recreational shopping for all things bikes is kind of my thing. Black friday deals were pretty amazing, kind of makes me feel like I’ve been overpaying the rest of the year!

Fancy bike wheels cost as much or more than car wheels, but everyone knows if you look fast you go fast, so what the heck.

The US has the highest level of personal consumption in the world.
And real estate is tied to that consumption. We have to fill our big houses.

And home improvement is big business.

I’m consumed by remodeling and making everything perfect.
Just bought a bunch of faucets at Costco. Beautiful pieces at an amazing price.

We didn’t buy sheet today.

Spent the day at the LA Auto show, which has become our day-after-Tday tradition.

Bottom line: 124 is AWESOME…must own one before I die. They had 4 count’em 4 Giuilias on display…great vehicle…long live four leaf clovers!

XF was a let down XE was superb…X-PACE much better than expected in red…gaudy in bright blue.

New Camaro had dudes climbing all over it…much like GT-R did last year…

Eye candy was lacking…a few nice models but besides that only my wife attracting attention. 🙂

On the topic of buying things–as a society–most Americans are definitely spenders and not savers.

Personally, with so many variables in life, like most Piggs, I’d be very concerned unless I knew my funds should last for the duration–but apparently many people aren’t–per the stats below:

I used to go to auto shows but I like airplanes and boats more so I usually go to airshows now. San Diego had a few good ones this year and Fleet Week was awesome. Of course I can afford neither they are even more expensive than cars but serious eye candy.

I simply don’t have garage space right now to juggle parking another car right now. Though I’m told that new car sales is doing well this year. I guess we’re out of the recession 🙂

I think she wanted to go to the show because she’s due a new car next year. Trying to figure out what she wants.

My problem is that our garage is now full so if we get another car something has to go outside, because I’m not selling any of what we’ve got! For all except one, they are fully depreciated, cheap to insure, in excellent shape, and wouldn’t bring as much as they’re worth to me. So I’m keepin’ em.

We’ll see how this plays out.

Another thing I forgot to mention: the Mercedes display was huge and there were several models I didn’t even know existed. I can’t quite figure out how they are able to introduce so many models. BMW is getting to be the same way.

And have you seen the Mercedes GTS? Oh my lord is that gorgeous! That car is going to be a classic! They had a red one at the show and I fell in love…couldn’t sit in it but peering in the windows the interior is delicious. And it has a V8. And a $144K sticker. Maybe we’ll get one used in another decade. Save a ton of cash buying used.

The Mercedes GTS is awesome.

I think BMW is straying way too much from their roots. There’s the 1 series, 2 series, 3 series, 4 series, 4 series 4 door coupe, 5 series, 6 series, 6 series with 4 door coupe, 7 series. X1,2,3,4,5,6,7 and M2, M3, M4, M5, M6…Not to mention all the diesels. Oh well.

You can’t possibly have a bigger space issue than me. I have two in the garage, and 3 on the street, which I’m sure my neighbors are just thrilled about. I can’t imagine juggling a 6th car..

I really want a GT4… More than a 911s

Unfortunately, they are $25k above MSRP. And I’m not going to pay 2017 911s price for it.

Did not make it to the show after all when we were in LA, but, as some of you have mentioned, we don’t need any cars either. As my wife says, we’re “collected out.” Still, it’s always fun to look.

if only used cars depreciate a little faster….
