haha… UCGal, I think that a 2000sf house with a companion in-law house, and a nice courtyard in between, is definitely not fuctionally obsolete.
Not having A/C is a detriment.
But a 1000sf wood cottage with only one bath, bad insulation, and no garage is definitely functionally obsolete.
