Just wanted to see what some fellow piggies thought were good online/physical brokers now. A lot of firms have cut trading commissions recently and the old cheap firms are priced pretty similarly to everyone else.
I like firms which have a physical presence since I like to be able to walk in a check on tax day for IRAs, etc…or if I need to wire money out for emergencies, I can walk in and do that instead of calling or faxing.
I also use Schwab. I do my checking there as well and get all of my ATM fees refunded. And I mean all of them. Any ATM fee in the world is refunded. This is done through Schwab bank, which is actually a separate entity than the trading house, but the bank uses the balance in brokerage accounts to determine your service level. This includes IRAs, education funds for the kids, SEP plans, basic brokerage accounts, etc. And, they
I have more Schwab accounts than socks, basically, and it works well for me. Schwab’s integration with Quicken has always worked well, also.
