If I were you I would go see an Oral Surgeon, especially if your wisdom tooth is impacted.
Honestly, a dentist should not be performing an extraction of wisdom teeth.
You don’t know why he is recommending a bone graft and since we cant see your X-rays and we are not qualified to advise you anyway its better to see an expert. Its probably cheaper too.
Normally, you do not need a bone graft for a wisdom tooth. Bone grafts are usually used for dental implants. Usually the only time they have to bone graft after extracting a wisdom tooth is if you have a tumor, cyst or bone defect.

guys, thanks much! SD, yes please, I could use an opinion. The problem is that I do not mind spending the money if it is legit but I don’t want to get ripped off and also do unecessary procedures.
I called the dentist again and he says he can lower the fee to $225 but that I will have to get the bone graft to prevent an infection and a dry socket condition..whatever the heck that means.
