Do you think it’s a dangerous combo? More dangerous than white people with a legal weapon?
California was an almost open carry state. Until 1967. What changed that was a republican lead movement that resulted in the Mulford Act. Even then, white people carrying guns wasn’t a problem for republicans. But when the streets of Oakland were being patrolled by armed Black Panthers, to protect citizens from the Oakland cops, things had to change. Who was it that took guns away from law abiding people? Ronald Reagan signed the bill into law.

Tragedies? As far as the NRA is concerned, they weren’t tragedies. They were successes. You know….good (white) guy with a gun. Crickets. That’s what you’ll here. Crickets.

I’m just as curious to see how the BLM movement and the president respond to the cop massacre.July 8, 2016 at 4:59 AM #799402AnonymousGuest
I’m just as curious to see how the BLM movement and the president respond to the cop massacre.
They’re going to say it was a horrible tragedy.
It will get interesting when we learn who the killers were.
At this point all we know is that they were capable of killing five officers who were wearing bullet-proof vests.
Relevant to the OP is that the first suspect was incorrectly identified. He was black with a legal weapon.

The police are not trigger happy just because they feel like it. They want an uneventful day and go back to their family at the end of every shift. They are like this because they are a scared bunch. Quite frankly with a population so loaded up with guns and ammo, no kidding they are scared. Fear causes all animals to strike at the slightest hint of danger.

I’m not a member of the NRA and I don’t like (or own) guns. But just because someone is in favor gun ownership doesn’t make them racist homicidal maniacs.
July 8, 2016 at 8:38 AM #799407livinincaliParticipantThe problem is the cops lost the respect of the community and it probably all boils down to the original war on drugs. Crack is a hell of a drug that you probably don’t want to make legal but the strong arm tactics the cops used back then started this whole mess. I don’t know that you can restore that respect and trust anymore without a lot of hard work that the cops aren’t really interested in doing.
The other factor is the blatant disregard for the rule of law. There’s just too many high profile instances of people that are above the law. It has to end or these problems just get worse and worse.

I agree with you his time Livinincali.
White people are making a mistake thinking its a BLM problem. Drug addiction is moving at a fast pace to rural areas and white populations.
I listened to this show on drug addiction yesterday.

Agree. But at the same time, what is the BLM doing about the black on black killing in cities like Chicago? -
