Or they killed him and the body buried at sea was not his. The killing him is plausible. There is certainly a lot we will never know. Maybe it was a joint operation, for instance, seems like it but Pakistan can’t admit it. They could have given him sanctuary but eventually traded him in. Maybe while they did harbor him the U.S knew about it all along, but didn’t want to kill him yet.

May 3, 2011 at 9:52 AM #691580bubba99ParticipantIf OBL is dead, any terrorist actions they had planned may continue on their original timelines. If he is alive, all planned actions must be cancelled or executed immediately – before we can get the intel out of OBL.
But if we have him, and have lied about him being alive, everything we get is actionable. If we did capture him, it is in the national interest to make the world think he is dead.

May 3, 2011 at 10:51 AM #691610briansd1Guest[quote=UCGal] I’m not defending Bush or Obama. Not giving credit to one “side” or the other. Unlike Brian, I don’t see this as a team thing where you pick a team to root for and ignore any faults of that team.

UCGal, you’re a better person than me.
I just find it disingenuous that some convervatives proclaim “they all equally suck” after they are all done cheering for their team.
Humm…. suddenly a change of heart. How convenient.
Remember during the campaign when they made all kinds of excuses for Palin and argued that she was a credible candidate? What a joke that was.
