Ahhh, interesting point about Tempurpedic. Bummer that you can’t get a discount. You’re right – gotta love Costco, especially the return policy.
I chuckled when I read your last comment…if only you knew how many deals my husband and I have worked over the years on different purchases. Funny thing is that he considers himself the financially conservative one, having spent a long career in corporate banking, and he thinks he’s always driving a tough deal yet, more often than not, I have to be the voice of reason in most big negotiations. When we get into the negotiations, I feel like I’m the one who can walk away if the price isn’t right no matter how much I want it, but he gets antsy and just wants it all to be over and to get the deal done, at almost any price (this has happened with houses, cars and now beds)! I can’t even call him on it because he’s so sensitive about it, but it does make me a little crazy to see him leave money on the table. π
Hope your back pain gets resolved soon. Take good care.

May 13, 2008 at 9:51 AM #203294nostradamusParticipantCarli’s good cop/bad cop tactic is hilarious.
I think bedding is ridiculously priced. Especially considering I’m happy sleeping on a $200 roll-up memory foam mattress. If I want softer I fold it over itself and voila, double the softness. Then again, I’ve been called a cheapo hermit. I did try the $2k tempurpedic but it sooo wasn’t worth it (to me).
I’ll bet 90% of the overhead of mattress companies is spent on marketing, talking up the benefits of their junk.

I do not know what your belief system is, but when you mentioned the position of your pain and what it feels like to you, I clearly saw a sword wound.
Past life injury.
Intend to heal. There is nothing wrong with you.
