ParticipantI own a home in Mexico in the interior. Davelj’s comments match my impression of Baja and certainly many resort area condo projects throughout. Regarding the lack of MLS of course this is true. That is why you need a notario you can personally trust. Getting a fideicomiso is not a problem, I would worry about the annual fees going up AFTER the purchase. I didn’t need one for my house so no first hand experience. In Mexico these days, including in Baja near TJ, you must make a decision about your tolerance for the state of public safety. Ever since Calderon took office in 2006 this has been a factor.

The War on Drugs gone awry.
The authorities in USA, Mexico and around the world really should give up and legalize drugs.

ParticipantYou left out the part to tax drugs. Regulation is the only way to tame these heathens. Right?
