Scaredycat—the 6 people that have the task are not gay….married with grown kids, married with no kids, single and straight with grown kids/no kids..but I get your point. It just ain’t fair.
JP–federal government job, so they can’t just let us go. (please no bashing from other piggs on federal employees….)
Is Da Counselor still on these boards?

Travel and Per Diem will be paid, and there won’t be a manager there supervising you. Sounds like a paid vacation.
No government employee bashing? Why not? You’ve obviously spent your adult life in an environment where maximum effort is only expended in avoiding decision making, and actual accomplishment. Hell, you’re probably not even technically qualified to do your job.
I’m a little surprised that they haven’t hired a contract employee to perform this oh so distasteful task. That is the custom when the guvvies won’t do their work.

February 28, 2009 at 8:27 AM #357567CoronitaParticipantIf this is government job, just slack off.
Call in sick the days you’re suppose to go.
Or make a convenient excuse that my car is broken.
Run over your foot, or just wear a wrap around your arm to disqualify yourself. If this was a private sector, I’d say, sorry depending on how much you value having a job these days, you sort of have to take it unless you have an option to go elsewhere.
Btw the way, see if you can get the reason for why you are selected in writing. (email or regular print). You never know when you might need to pull the discrimination lever out of the bunny hat.
