speaking of watches. anyone know where/how to replace the glass crystal on a watch? I got my kid a watch for bday and she managed to crack it while doing the monkey bars.
The watch is like $20, so might not be worth it to fix it.
Not worth it to fix it unless you do it yourself.. which may require specialized tools (presses). Might want to get her one of those sports watches for now.. since it sounds like she is a bit active.. just pick up ‘pink’ if she is into the girly things.

How do you lefty’s deal with pen smears.
I’m not a lefty, but I have seen how the do it.. the paper is turned 90 degrees to the right, and they write towards the body with the hand bent at an angle. Looks kind of wierd.. but works.July 18, 2012 at 8:40 PM #748372moneymakerParticipantHere’s where I bought mine from. http://www.esslinger.com/watchcrystalsflatmineralglass.aspx
All you need is a micrometer to measure the diameter and thickness of the glass once you get it out.Ater taking the back off and removing the “guts”, the crystal just pops out through the back. There is generally a plastic ring around it,just save it for the reinstall. The biggest downside is the shipping and waiting, I did call around and it is a bit pricey to have it done by a jeweler.July 18, 2012 at 9:14 PM #748375svelteParticipantI stopped wearing watches too for all the reasons mentioned on here…kept losing them, time is now on cell phone, almost every place I go has a clock, yadda yadda.
Really haven’t missed it that often. I’d say only once every few months do I say “gee, I’d know the time right now if I still wore a watch”.

November 21, 2012 at 1:39 AM #755040AnonymousGuestI love watches to collect and wear according to the occasion..rollex is so very good watch,it is one of the leading brand..but breguet is very beautiful brand.
November 21, 2012 at 10:48 AM #755054scaredyclassicParticipantthe watch band is also important. i would say it is worth spending a lot of money to buy a watch band that is special, even if it costs as much or more than the watch.
November 21, 2012 at 9:58 PM #755102AnonymousGuestYour way is very unique to estimate the time..if you don’t have a cell phone..then u must have a watch.
