My CD’s have matured and are looking to reinvest…what is the major reason there is such a difference in the traditional Cd’s and “online” cd’s? At WaMu the online CD is at 4.7% for 12 months and the traditional online CD is 2.7%. Are “online” cd’s through WaMu FDIC insured?

check out La Jolla Bank at 5% APY.
I think that Countrywide bank has the best CD rates.

You seriously need to look into EverBank. I have foreign currency cd that has already returned over 3 percent on currency flux alone not to mention the 5.5 percent apy with only a 3 month term. Hell, money market acct has an intro rate of 6 percent apy for 3mos and 5 percent thereafter. Why in god’s are you messing around with WAMU??!

You seriously need to look into EverBank. I have foreign currency cd that has already returned over 3 percent on currency flux alone not to mention the 5.5 percent apy with only a 3 month term. Hell, money market acct has an intro rate of 6 percent apy for 3mos and 5 percent thereafter. Why in god’s are you messing around with WAMU??!

I am not looking specifically at WaMu… I just want to make sure that these are FDIC insured and that we aren’t missing something in the fine print.
