    Sorry to interrupt the politically charged name-calling fest, but did anyone notice that the Government announced GDP numbers today. Revised 4th Quarter 2007 GDP to -0.2% in the process

    Great post, fsd. I did, and found it interesting.

    Wonder how much is defense, O&G. Surprising that drops in banking, construction, real estate and finance haven’t had more of an impact. Disbelief would be a better term.

    peterb – I believe the government understates inflation. However, I find it equally hard to believe the shadowstats GDP estimates that cumulative GDP growth has essentially been 0% from 1986 to 2008.
