It looks like the tax plans are pretty much the same until you get above $600,000 in income. Do you seriously think capitalism is going to fall apart because someone making $600,000 a year has to pay an extra 1% of their income in taxes? I think capitalism will be able to withstand such a viscious assault.
AN, you really need to get out and experience the world. There are greater injustices than some rich asshole having to pay an extra 1% in taxes. Some of these injustices even occur right here in America.
Sorry if I’m not rich and live in a comfy Carmel Valley home like you to scoff at $400-$1500 tax break a year. No, I don’t think capitalism will fall apart because of higher taxes on people making $600k. But I can see small business owners getting in a world of hurt due to 50% higher wages, increase in health care spending, etc. Maybe you should open a small business, then tell me how you feel about these increase in costs. You’re telling me to get out and experience the world? Can you tell me if you ever live in a Communist country? I can tell, after living in one and see how it affects people, I really detest it. The greatest injustice I see here in America is how much opportunity are out there and yet you have people who just whine and moan but do nothing to help themselves. You can’t have your cake and eat it too. Those who grew up with nothing will understand.

Then we just change that rule too. Anyone deriving income from the U.S., regardless of citizenship, gets taxed.I think we can both agree that the rich are scum and will try to do whatever they can to get out of paying taxes. You won’t get an argument from me on that. However, that doesn’t mean the government should just roll over and not try to tax these scumbags.
We all know these guys are 10 steps ahead of the government. If you keep on changing the rule to squeeze out these scum, you’ll end up with what we all call Communism. Where everyone is equal. These scums are taking advantage of this great country and not sharing with the rest of us 85% who make less than $100k/household. It’s time to make them pay their fair share. Why stop at $250k. We all know family making $100k or more is only ~15% of the total population. Why not increase taxes on any family making $100k and single making $50k or more to help the 85% of the population that make less than that. We should strive for this equality. I mean, it’s such a big injustice that 15% of the population probably control 99% of the wealth. I say, tax them all and tax them hard.

Unbridled capitalism is as bad as unbridled communism in my opinion. I like Obama because he has a balanced approach. He’s going to raise taxes on the richards, but keep taxes about the same for those making less than $250K. You keep trying to mischaracterize Obama’s plan as communism when all it is really is a slight increase in tax burden on those who can best afford it.
As for small businesses, those under a certain number of employees should be exempted from having to pay health benefits and complying with regulations that larger businesses have to comply with. It’s called ‘balance’ and it’s what makes American society work.
