As to Walter’s point on incarceration: It is all of a piece; it’s all interconnected. There is no disconnect between what’s happening with the NSA, CIA, DHS, etc and the state and local law enforcement community. Where do you think state and local law enforcement get their data? Or their money for all those new, shiny militaristic toys they run around with? Yup, also part of the American Security State’s “War on Terror”.
Yes, Allan, I agree.
The Soviet Union went bankrupt feeding its security apparatus. We might suffer the same fate.
As you say, it’s all interconnected. It’s connected to our debt and budget problems.
Security Apparatus and control on free markets. Don’t forget how damaging something like Obamacare will be to innovation in the medical industry. The socialization doesn’t allow the market to pick winners and losers and allows people to maniuplate the market and make sweetheart GOV deals at high levels. I suspect every major medical insurance company will be donating to Obama’s campaign.

I’ve read the bill. I know you haven’t. So do your research before you come back and explain the unexplainable.

“In what surely was one of the weirdest incidents in a presidential debate, CNN’s Candy Crowley egregiously sided with President Obama on his false remarks on Libya, was repeatedly and decisively fact-checked post-debate as wrong (somewhere between “mostly wrong” and “pants on fire” in my book) and then backed away from her own incorrect assertion. As was the case in the vice presidential debate, the biggest story may be the after-the-debate tumult over White House misrepresentations on Libya.”

Pretty funny article. She claims Crowley was wrong, then points to three sources, supposedly that back her stupid assertion. And none of those three articles she links to do any of the sort. Obama was right. Crowley was right. Romney lied again.

Please read the text of Obama’s comments on 9/12/2012
then try to justify your comment above.

I have. Romney was wrong when he asserted that Obama hadn’t referred to the attack as an act of terror. He did. Trying to twist his words into referring to something other than the Benghazi attack is moronic. Meaning anyone who tries to do that or believes it to be true is a moron. There isn’t even any wiggle room. It was the subject of the speech.
Furthermore, the most recent reports indicate that he was also correct in the reporting that the attacks were a spontaneous response to the video.

Mother Jones? MOTHER JONES?!? You are citing THAT rag? Please, read it for entertainment, but for God’s sake, don’t quote it as anything resembling factual.October 17, 2012 at 5:15 PM #752730SK in CVParticipant

Furthermore, the most recent reports indicate that he was also correct in the reporting that the attacks were a spontaneous response to the video.

To Libyans who witnessed the assault and know the attackers, there is little doubt what occurred: a well-known group of local Islamist militants struck the United States Mission without any warning or protest, and they did it in retaliation for the video. That is what the fighters said at the time, speaking emotionally of their anger at the video without mentioning Al Qaeda, Osama bin Laden or the terrorist strikes of 11 years earlier. And it is an explanation that tracks with their history as members of a local militant group determined to protect Libya from Western influence.
October 17, 2012 at 5:29 PM #752731paulflorezParticipant“No acts of terror will ever shake the resolve of this great nation, alter that character, or eclipse the light of the values that we stand for. Today we mourn four more Americans who represent the very best of the United States of America. We will not waver in our commitment to see that justice is done for this terrible act. And make no mistake, justice will be done.”
He referred to it as an act of terror. Your interpretation is clouded by your bias. The words are right there, or do you need some kind of certificate to prove he said those words?

False equivilence.

I’m sure you’ve seen the lists of the dozens of lies that Romney has told during this campaign and more specifically during the debates. Nothing that Obama has said or done is even in the same league. Both sides do it. Only one side does it at unscrupulously outrageous levels.
October 17, 2012 at 7:15 PM #752737VeritasParticipantThat is why I called your guy a liar. With libs., this is their religion. That is why they get so pissed when it is attacked. Everything about liberalism paints it as a full-fledged religion. You have your original sin (slavery), your sacrament (abortion), your mandatory tithes (high taxes), and your redeemer (the man with the Greek columns and teleprompter).
Sorry. I have another religion. Otherwise, you are undoubtedly a very fine man and I respect you. Just look at his record dispassionately and keep telling me the same thing. I think since you moved you have a lot of time on your hands, so I know you can fact check all the lies. If you find a neutral source instead of some lib approved site, I am sure you will be amazed at the lies that come out of his face. It is a shame they had money to send Volts and charging stations to Vienna, but no money for adequate security for the Ambassador. Obama lied- the Ambassador died.
“Priorities: While our consulate in Benghazi was guarded by unarmed Libyan contractors making $4 an hour, our embassy in Vienna received an expensive charging station for its new electric cars to help fight climate change.”
