I think that religion is good in that it gives people hope and motivation to carry on and to do good.
Hope comes on different levels. The hope to go heaven in the afterlife, or, more immediately, the hope that a Black president will bring about more social justice and peace in the world.
That’s not to say that a Black president is more qualified than a White president. But a Black president’s experiences during his lifetime may give him more empathy and allow him to discern what a White president missed all along.
Sorry, I still don’t have empathy for a fetus. I have empathy for the feelings of religious people and I have empathy for what drives them. But I don’t support their illegal acts of civil disobedience and intimidation of fellow citizens who support the legal business of abortion.
Me, I don’t need God for hope and motivation. But I’m glad that God is there for others.
I don’t deny that God exists. He may or may not. I don’t care.
The evidence, so far, indicates that God as defined in the Bible does not exit.
I don’t have much faith in the existence of God.
There can be many definitions of “God”. I think that the universe is God. It’s more mysterious and awesome than any earthly religion, in my view. I believe in “from dust to dust.”
I don’t need religious people to save me. If I end up in hell, then I would have well deserved it.
