In polite society, one never reproaches someone else for a faux pas. One would simply not associate with the offending party.
BTW, you never bail out a faux pas, you just let it go, which is exactly what the Queen did.
I have never seen so much jackassness as one finds in this particular star bellied sneech club..the so-called polite society. Just a sub-culture that wants to cooperatively deny that their shit stinks. The only real faux pas that matters is to dare to enlighten them. I am not saying that on the whole they are worse than the klu klux klan or anything like that, but you can draw comparisons.
As a Republican, do you really wish for the American President to be familiar with British royal protocol?
Anyway, the Brits are so offended, that’s why the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are coming to America so soon after Obama’s state visit to Britain.
“Did you know all 43 U.S. presidents have carried European royal bloodlines into office? 34 have been genetic descendants from just one person, Charlemagne, the brutal eighth century King of the Franks.”

I’m really at a loss as to why the folksy, mavericky people at the Tea Party fixate so much on how the Obamas interact with the Queen.
Wasn’t the Tea Party about throwing out British oppression?
But if one really must look up to those in polite society, one would look for cues from one’s social superiors.
The Queen has decided that she wants the Obamas in her social circle. If the Queen didn’t like the Obamas, William and Kate would not be meeting with them. The royals would stick to very minimal interaction with the Americans.
