Mira Mesa is full of traps.
1) gold coast just past black mountain right next to hour glass field. This is where they train the new cops, and they park in the apartment buildings and just nail people left and right for doing 30 in a 25.2) Flanders and Kamwood (Camino Santa Fe area). They again park in the apartment complex and just nail people left and right. I drive by this one every day and just chuckel that the keep gettin people.
3)Sorrento Valley Blvd at pacific haven ct.
Again they almost always seem to have someone pulled over here. But this one I kinda understand. 2 lanes or not, people go through there at like 60 all the time and that is kinda BS. It is all houses, and 45 is plenty. If you know more in MM let me know. It is amazing how many cops are in MM at all times.

January 22, 2009 at 11:35 PM #333806ralphfurleyParticipantI’m sure they are ticketing more and collecting more revenue for the city. Times are tough and people are always breaking traffic laws in one way or another. Easy money to collect from people.
I’ve noticed more cops around my neck of the woods. And if it’s a motorcycle cop, forget it. You’re getting a ticket if you get pulled over.
If the “emergency vehicle” didn’t have it’s emergency lights on, then I don’t see the merit in the ticket you got. They are supposed to follow the rules and wait their turn like everyone else. Of course, if they had their lights on and you didn’t give “right away”, then you’re screwed.
——————–
I’ll add that instead of putting in speed bumps every ten feet on every damn block, the cops should just enforce the damn law.

January 22, 2009 at 11:39 PM #333821jficquetteParticipant
If you drive down Palomar Airport Road there’s been weeks where every day there are 2-5 “pigs on hogs” (Motorcycle cops) on the island west of Camino Vida Roble right by the AM-PM with radar guns out or pulling people over. I haven’t been caught because I was lucky and noticed the trend. I think with the budget in California in such bad shape the Swine are trying to make sure they look useful and income generating. I say start paying all law enforcement minimum wage and I mean federal minimum wage not CA minimum wage. F’ the police! Serve and protect more like harass and persecute.
Coast Highway where it turns into Carlsbad Blvd from north of Palomar Airport Road to Carlsbad Village Drive is a big speed trap.
It extortion, extortion I say!
