What HD do you go to? I went to the one in Encinitas last weekend and waited in the garden area for abut 20 minutes and they had all 3 or 4 cash registers open. I hate going there because it’s crowded every day of the week. I’ve never seen only 1 or 2 checkout counters open. Same with Costco. Busy 7 days a week. Still wouldn’t buy HD stock though. Seems like there is a HD or Lowes in every city.

August 17, 2007 at 4:36 PM #77346CMcGParticipantI went to Bank of America around 3:20 this afternoon (a small San Diego branch) and was shocked that there was no line at all (very unusual, especially for a Friday). After reading about the run on Countrywide Bank yesterday I was expecting there to be a lot of people transferring funds. But no one was even waiting on the couches to see a new accounts supervisor.

That’s because nobody has any money left.
But really, the BofA near me is usually empty, and I know I do all my banking online or at the ATM. I don’t see how one would notice how well business is doing by looking at traffic when the branches have done everything possible to keep you from going to the branch office.-one muggle

August 17, 2007 at 5:05 PM #77364(former)FormerSanDieganParticipantI saw a huge line at Ortho Mattress. Guess that’s where they are planning to put their money.
I haven’t been inside a bank or credit union for over 2 years. Why do people go there ?
