next few months matter?

i am aware that i tend to overestimate the effect of reality on people’s behavior, but…I am wondering…do the next say 3-6 months matter in terms of real estate prices? let’s say you were a timid fellow, throwing lots of offers out there, some of them on the edge of a number you’d feel compfortable paying. is it possible that with the expiration of the 8k tax credit and the potential cessation of fed support for mortgage rates that buyers with cash could have greatly increased leverage later this year? do the next few months matter or not really? Should I just ignore unfolding events and buy when the deal seems right? it’s difficult for me not to feel like something big could be happening shortly…but i’ve felt that way before and been cluelessly wrong…

2. Value of Dollar will decline dramatically.

3. A raise of hourly/salary that will occur after an unknown lag time related to economy and above points(smoke and mirror game).
3a. Resulting in an “inflation” of future home prices(which I understand is actually not an increase of value, but would make it easier to pay that stationary mortgage.?)

Is that not what happened in the ’70’s???

Therefore, I would like to buy now, and but quick…if I could.
